On November 30, 2016, The Medici Dynasty Show will celebrate its three-hundredth performance at its established venue at Il Fuligno, via Faenza, 48.

For the occasion, a drinks reception by Tenuta di Artimino and an exclusive cooking show by executive chef Michela Bottasso, of Ristorante Biagio Pignatta, will complete the celebratory evening. Bottasso will prepare Caterina de’ Medici’s recipe of duck with orange sauce.

The 2016 season of The Medici Dynasty Show involved important changes to the script and video projections, rendering the immersive theatre show into a more emotionally gripping theatre experience and making it enjoyable to those who have no previous knowledge about Florence’s most famous family, the Medici.

What stands out is the bond that unites the two protagonists, Gian Gastone and Anna Maria Louisa de’ Medici. Gian Gastone had issued orders not to permit Anna Maria Louisa into his apartments, thus for the 14 years of his reign his only relations with his sister were those in connection to the official ceremonies of the Grand Duchy. But Anna Maria Louisa manages to enter the Grand Duke’s bedroom through a secret passage. During their meeting they rediscover the deep bond that united them in childhood with a range of emotions, humorous banter and sentiment. There are moments of love, hate and pride linked to the history of Florence and the cultural treasure trove that the Medici have left behind.

Work by artists Sara Amrhein and Valentina Caprini will also be on display, whose original jewelry combines Florentine craftsmanship and an artistic vision of international scope.

The Medici Dynasty Show will have special showings for Christmas from December 23 to 30. For the New Year, two special dates are scheduled for January 3 and 5, 2017.
