Valentino Rossi has become the latest Moto GP rider toslam Toni Elias’ tactics, after the pair fought tooth-and-nail for third placein the first half of the Turkish Grand Prix. Spaniard Elias challenged Rossi onlap five when he braked late and slid widely, forcing the Italian to pull hisYamaha upwards in mid-corner. Eliasfurther enraged the five-time world champion with a daring move at the samecorner four laps later. The pair bangedshoulders as the Gresini Honda rider went for the inside line.
Rossi, who dropped back to finish tenth withtyre troubles, was quick to voice his dismay at his rival’s race-craft. ‘I’mquite unhappy with Elias because I think he drove dangerously’, said Rossi.‘More than once he passed me on the inside and then altered his line. That’snot the right way to race’. Rossi was the second rider in two days to protestElias’ sideways style.
