Don't miss Archeological Nights in Tuscany from July 10 to 31

As every year, Tuscany celebrates its vast archeological heritage in the month of July. Running July 10 to 31, the Nights of Archeology event is held this year in 155 museums, parks and archeological areas throughout the region and features over 200 events, including special evening openings, guided visits, cinema retrospectives and more.

The Gruppo Avis Mineralogia e Paleontologia Scandicci (GAMPS) museum, in Badia a Settimo, will offer free guided visits every day, from 9pm to 12pm, from July 13 to 17. Called From Prehistoric Sharks to the Myth of the Sirens, the guided tour lasts 2 hours and takes visitors through Tuscany's ancient, prehistoric past. It will pay special attention to the marine mammals that used to inhabit the region thousands of years ago. From prehistoric shark teeth to a prehistoric whale, over the years the GAMPS group has made several unique discoveries in Tuscany.
