1 card = 12 museums

Ten Florentine cities join new initiative
(issue no. 148/2011 / September 15, 2011)

Although Chianti and the Valdarno are better known for their culinary excellence, magnificent artwork hangs in their churches and museums.

From now through October 21, a new museum card offers those touring the province of Florence during the fall to see lesser-known but nonetheless magnificent works by Coppo di Marcovaldo, Ambrogio Lorenzetti, Masaccio and Andrea del Verrocchio made for churches and other sacred places in the Chianti and Valdarno areas.

With the new 5-euro Images and Skills card, which gives access to 12 museums in Florence and environs, visitors can learn more about the great artists of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance by viewing their works in Barberino Val d'Elsa, Bagno a Ripoli, Figline Valdarno, Greve in Chianti, Impruneta, Incisa in Val d'Arno, Reggello, Rignano sull'Arno, San Casciano in Val di Pesa, and Tavarnelle Val di Pesa.
