Florens 2012 Cultural and Environmental Heritage Week is a biennial event that explores how culture can generate economy, a thesis that is particularly relevant in arts-rich Italy. This will be addressed in the nine-day conference, with associated exhibits and activities, and the Fondazione Florens is calling on bloggers to help spread the word.
Web 2.0 authors worldwide who blog about the arts, culture, economy or sustainability are invited to sign up online . The Fondazione hopes to stimulate discussion online by asking candidates to publish a series of articles on themes relevant to Florens 2012 including: the promotion of cultural identity through handmade traditions and crafts, couture fashion, sustainable production and landscape; connections between economy and art; heritage conservation and art restoration; sustainable travel, smart cities, and technologies for sustainability. Five winners will be chosen as members of Team Florens and invited to Florence for 5 nights, all expenses paid, to tweet (with the hashtag #Florens2012) and live-blog from the conference that takes place November 3-11, 2012.
Local bloggers who wish to attend as press should write to teamflorens@fondazioneflorens.it
This type of ‘blogger engagement' is often used in the travel, fashion and food industries but is unique in the field of the arts, demonstrating how Florens 2012 is adopting a visionary strategy to reach its goals.
