Internationally
renowned novelist and native Tuscan Dacia Maraini has been awarded the Tuscan
author of the year prize, conferred by the Associazione Fiera del Libro Toscano
and the Tuscan Region, for her latest book Il treno dell’ultima notte.
Born in Fiesole, Maraini is one of Italy’s most celebrated feminist novelists and
playwrights. Some of her publications in English include The Silent Duchess,
Memoirs of a Female Thief, Women at War, and Darkness.
