“Mummies. Journey into Immortality” is an exhibition about the concept of afterlife in Ancient Egypt organized at the Museo Archeologico of Florence to celebrate the reentry of a corpus of works went through China during an itinerant exposition of five stages. Artifacts on show rappresent a wide and detailed testimony of the funerary practices adopted by the ancient Egyptians, as the embalming and the collocation inside the tombs of grave goods, composed by objects that permitted the continuation of life after death. To enrich the collection there are also examples of sarcophagus finely decorated, which reflected the status of the deceased.
