Gualano has been heavily influenced by the Surrealist aesthetic and ideas, and his work also explores topics that have greatly impacted his life, including the death of his girlfriend. Around 20 pieces will be on display at this exhibition.

Throughout his career, Gualano has worked in a range of media, having specialized in graphic art at the Accademia di Belle Arti; most recently he has focused primarily on manipulating canvas with pins and twisting. Most of the works in the exhibition lineup reflect this recent interest.

The vernissage of "Love, Knots, Sticks" will take place at 6pm on February 28 and will include an aperitivo prepared by students at Apicius, the Florence University of the Arts’ International School of Hospitality.

Ganzo is the Florence University of the Art’s fully functioning restaurant, open to the public and embodying the school’s dedication to experiential learning.
