FILM/Cinema e Donne

A film festival exploring the relationship between cinema and women over the last 30 years, Cinema e Donne is an opportunity to reflect on the image of women as portrayed in films around the world. Most of the 50 films, which include short, animation and feature films and hail from countries as diverse as Colombia, Tunisia and the USA, will either be in English or have English subtitles. TASTE/Volterragusto

Tickle your taste buds and discover seasonal flavours at this autumn festival in the beautiful town of Volterra. Every year several markets feature freshly pressed oil, truffles, wine and cheese, an entertaining cheese-rolling competition known as the Palio dei Caci, a truffle hunt and plenty of music. DANCE/Una notte al museo

Accademia Gallery, via Ricasoli 58–60, Florence

 

Renaissance sculpture meets contemporary dance as the Florence Dance Company performs around Michelangelo’s David, with choreography inspired by the sculptures in the room, which also include the Prisoners, and set to music by Bach. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, this international a cappella phenomenon and its unique blends of Bach fugues, Beyoncé and everything in between continues to push the boundaries of what the human voice can achieve.
