This month from November 10 to 30 some of the city’s most adored locations will come alive with a calendar packed with events that are food, wine and beer related. The festival is being organized by the Confesercenti Firenze, a traders association that works to address commerce, tourism and services in Florence.

Over these 21 days countless bars, restaurants, piazze and buildings will be used to host these events, providing different types of entertainment, food-related occasions and markets.

The festival will be kicking off on Monday November 10 at 1pm, when students from the hospitality high school IPSSAR Buontalenti will be preparing lunch for the Caritas Firenze in piazza Santissisima Annunziata. On the opening day there will also be a number of events at the Spazio Alfieri, including the inauguration and a wine tasting from 8.15 to 9.30pm.

On Sunday November 16 there will be an event organized by Life of Wine, entitled Viaggio nelle Età del Vino.  From 11am to 7pm there will be an extensive wine tasting, and from 8.30 on there will be a fun Barbeque party with regional food to compliment your wine, along with live swing music! Entry for this daylong event will cost 30€, for reservations contact marco@sutdioumami.com.

On Tuesday November 18 at 8pm, in the ancient Roman baths of the Giardino dell’Orticoltura, there will be a can’t-miss event for all you soccer lovers! There will be free entry to this interesting night, where 6 of history’s most famous and passionate goals will be viewed and accompanied by different wines, and fitting music.

From Friday November 21 to Sunday November 23, there will be a fun market celebrating street food and beer, from all around Italy and beyond. This is an interesting opportunity to try unique and fresh foods cooked on the spot, along with delicious beers presented by their makers. Over the same weekend, in the piazza Santa Maria Novella, there will be the Mercato dei Sapori e dei Mestieri, offering wine, food and crafts from Tuscany and more.

Over the last weekend of the festival on Saturday November 29 and Sunday November 30, there will be an all day wine tasting in the Giardino dell’Orticoltura. Drink cards will cost 10€, allow for 8 tastings, and come with a wine glass and a shoulder strap for carrying!
