There will be a philanthropic dimension to this year’s Gelato Festival, on in Florence’s piazzale Michelangelo from September 14 to 17, 2017.

Lemon and orange sorbet with fresh mint leaves, gluten-free and devoid of eggs and milk is the original flavour dedicated to children’s charity Fondazione Tommasino Bacciotti and made specially by Florence’s historic Gelateria Vivoli for the European final of the Gelato Festival.

In a press release, Silvana Vivoli commented, “To make this flavour I took inspiration from children’s songs that always mention fruit and fun, everyday things, adjusting the ingredients to ensure that all children, even those with allergies, would be able to enjoy the gelato.”

All monies from the sale of this gelato will go to the Fondazione Tommasino Bacciotti.
