Porpo: Octopus (‘polpo’ in standard Italian).

 

Example: ‘Che s’ha preparare un po’ di porpo pe’ antipasto?’ (‘Should we make a little octopus for an antipasto?’)

 

 

Un gni parea ivvero: He could not believe it.

 

Example: ‘Un gni parea ivvero che ci fosse anche lei alla cena, llè innamorato perso!’ (‘He couldn’t believe that she was at the dinner, too. He’s head over heels in love!’)

 

 

Dàgnene: To give something to someone.

 

Example: ‘Dàgnene un po’ di più di dorce, llè proprio bono.’ (‘Give him a little more dessert; it’s really good.’)
