From June 23, head to the cool courtyard of Obicà Mozzarella Bar in via de’ Tornabuoni for music and mozzarella. Every Tuesday night from 7pm, enjoy the eclectic beats of The Join Trio, an Italian trio with a versatile repertoire, ranging from R&B to blues, swing and folk. Unwind by sipping a classic cocktail, perhaps a Mojito or a Frozen Daiquiri, or be more adventurous and opt for an Apple Sunrise or Sicilian Ice Tea, Campari Spring or Violet Carpet. The outdoor venue is a perfect place for an alfresco dinner as well as a welcome haven in central Florence, whiling away the afternoon with refreshing green juices or Galvanina organic cool drinks.

You can’t go to Obicà without indulging in mozzarella, of course. Try the Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP, which Obicà has been serving for more than 10 years in a variety of Italian-inspired dishes: mozzarella with Slow Food cured meats and salami, as well as schiaffoni pasta alla sorrentina made using La Motticella organic tomatoes, Chianina beef tagliata with Trapani salt and grilled courgette parmigiana.

Sensational too is Obicà’s pizza: the dough is made from selected Molino Quaglia stone-ground soft grain flour and leavened naturally for 48 hours. Our summer topping tips: meat lovers will love the pizza topped with Capocollo di Martina Franca salami, while vegetarian taste buds will delight in the organic tomato option.
