The EU has once again rejected Italy’s plans to be within Kyoto Agreement pollution level maximums by the year 2010. The 569 million tons of carbon dioxide emitted each year in Italy must be reduced by 6.5% by the 2010 deadline. EU officials claim to have refused the plan because Italy had left industrial emissions levels too high to be able to meet the deadline.
