British actor Colin Firth has been formally recognized for his many contributions in helping promote Italy abroad. The actor, best known for his part in the Bridget Jones films, received the Star of Italian Solidarity award during a ceremony held last week at the Italian Embassy in London. Ambassador Giancarlo Aragona praised Firth’s various literary collaborations with the Italian Cultural Institute, as well as his contributions to promoting Italy’s image in Great Britain. Firth, who is married to an Italian, has long made his support of Italy evident.
