Almost
one out of three people under the age of 24 is jobless in Italy,
according to the latest statistics released by Istat. Data also shows
that the unemployment rate is among youth aged 15-24 has continued to
fall over the last year to a record 29.2 percent, the lowest since
2004.

 

According
to Istat, it is ‘a small sign that the labour market is
deteriorating.’ In the first trimester of 1020, Italy’s overall
unemployment rate was recorded at 8.7 percent, up 1.2 percent
compared to the same period last year.
