Each year, tourists spend over one billion euro shopping in Italy’s fashion capital, Milan, and the majority of tourists go there to buy the latest trends. The data comes from a study conducted by Milan’s chamber of commerce, which reveals that designer stores in the downtown Duomo area are those most targeted by credit-card-carrying visitors. Tourist shoppers are also drawn to Corso Vittorio Emanuele. The study noted that 75 percent of tourists in Milan go there to shop, with Germans and Spaniards among the most numerous.
