The city of Milan recently established an observatory to protect and chronicle Italian culture and know-how. The observatory, located in Milan’s Pirelli district, will collect and conduct research on Italian knowledge and skill in culture, the arts, economics and innovation. Italy’s greatest intellects will also participate with the research centre, among them Umberto Eco, Gae Aulenti, Guido Martinotti and Aldo Schiavone.
