The
Italian consumer’s group Adiconsum recently launched a Web TV channel,
http://tv.adiconsum.it, to broadcast news reports and shows on issues that
concern Italian consumers. Among the topics investigated so far are renewable
energy, counterfeit merchandise, car insurance and petrol prices. The channel
will also feature shows that answer consumers’ questions; those interested can
email infotv@adiconsum.it (in Italian). ‘It is the first step in the consumers’
movement,’ remarked Pietro Giordano, general secretary of Adiconsum, who said
the new initiative is ‘an instrument of information and training.’ Adiconsum
will also open a research centre. For more information, see http://www.adiconsum.it.
