From May 7 to 15, international tennis greats will
battle it out at Rome’s Foro Italico, which will host the 2011 Internazionali
BNL d’Italia, one of the three ATP World Tour Masters 1000 contested on clay.
The ‘combined event’ featuring the top 43 men and 32 of the top 35 women tennis
players in ATP and WTA tennis will have competitors playing side by side on the
Foro’s 11 courts, the first time this has happened in 33 years. This year’s
tournament is a joint venture between the Italian Tennis Federation and Coni
Servizi SpA, with BNL-BNP PARIBAS as title sponsor for the fifth consecutive
year.
