Italians
are increasingly turning to mobile phone devices for help in understanding,
treating and even curing myriad health conditions. For example, the latest
iPhone app made in Italy helps couples rekindle the flame under the sheets.
Alessandro Littara, the mind behind the new app, calls it ‘the first of its
kind in the world’ to give expert advice and scientific information on topics
ranging from anatomy, premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction to
fertility, sexual problems and disorders and sexually transmitted diseases.
Similarly, Italian scientists recently revealed an app to help an estimated
three million Italians better examine food labels to manage their
sensitivities. At the touch of a finger, allergy sufferers can get details of
products’ ingredients and information about the presence of all known antigens.
