One of the most enchanting places in Florence will open its doors and gardens to the upcoming car show, uniques special ones. Running this weekend from Friday, September 2 to Sunday, September 4, 2011, this exclusive car show returns to the Gherardesca Palace, Convent, and Gardens, today belonging to the Four Seasons hotel, for its second edition. Organized by the MAC Group, the same firm that organizes the great Mille Miglia vintage car rally that travels through Florence and Tuscany, from Brescia to Rome, each year (for more, click http://bit.ly/pZBGVz).

True to the philosophy and style that gave rise to the birth of Uniques Special Ones event, this year's edition will feature an international concours, an exhibition of pieces of art and high profile objects, but it will also be an important public relations opportunity to rub elbows with some of the world's most influential people. But what makes Uniques Special Ones so 'unique'? Because this is an exclusive annual event attracting vintage and rare car collectors from across the world, who will gather in Florence's enchanting Gherardesca gardens to showcase their own and admire other 'unique' or 'rare' cars and artifacts that are limited editions or deemed special due to the role they have played in history.

Not only a networking opportunity and exclusive rare car show, entrance to the two-day event includes lunch alfresco in the spectacular gardens of the Four Seasons, amongst the rare and unique cars on display there. The elegant galas held each evening of the event will also be a great way to meet others who have the same passion for rare cars and objects.

The heart of the event, however, is The Unique Cars International Concours, a competition involving cars belonging to six distinct categories: one-off models; rare models from extremely limited productions; prototypes; Concept and Show cars; famous automobiles; and automobiles from especially limited productions.

What rare cars will you see at this year's edition? The event will showcase a superb 1933 Pierce Arrow V 12, a one-off car registered in 1933, which once belonged to Carole Lombard, US actress and wife of Clark Gable. Another show-stopper will be the one of the most important cars in the history of Italian car manufacturer FIAT: the 1924 FIAT Mefistofele, which was the fastest car in the world, reaching speeds of 235 km/h. Last but not least, another showpiece of the exhibition is a Benz-Patent-Motor Car from 1886, which was recently inscribed in the UNESCO Register of the “World Documentary Heritage.”

An integral part of 2011 uniques special ones event is the presentation of rare and unique objects: not only cars, but also important and unparalleled objects from the high-end world of total luxury—from jewellery and objects of design to fashion accessories and works of art. An evocative exhibition dedicated to the artistic craft professions and the ‘five senses’ of luxury will be on display.

Those wishing to attend the event should act fast: only 500 day access passes are available each day and these will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis to those who call to reserve admission to the exclusive event. See www.uniquespecialones.com for registration information.
