Before the Christmas break, I was an angel for the Angeli per un Giorno event. I had never had the opportunity to participate as I was always leaving for a trip during the winter vacation. Though I had heard about the event from my friends and had seen pictures, where smiles were captured on both the Angels’ and the children’s faces, I too wanted to participate and was excited that I would be able to donate a smile to a child who was less fortunate than me.

It was an unforgettable day. I was responsible for a 12-year-old child, who I immediately got along with. Together, we watched a Christmas movie and then went to the Spazio Reale, a big playground where we played together carefree and cheerfully. In the afternoon, we attended Mass together, which was a nice way to say thank you for the day spent together.

At the end of the day, I accompanied the child to the bus, on which all the children would be driven back to their institutions. I will never forget the smile and the warmth of her hug as we said goodbye.

I would recommend and encourage all students to take part in this special event, to experience those smiles in person and feel like a real angel!

A special thank you to Ms. Vieillard and Father Scott for organizing this unforgettable event!
