The Lucca Summer Festival will host one of music’s living legends: the inimitable Stevie Wonder. Wonder will perform in piazza Napoleone on July 20, his only Italian date for the season. The concert will include a selection of his most famous songs across multiple decades and stylistic periods.
A multi-talented singer, producer and instrumentalist, Wonder has earned 22 Grammy Awards throughout his long career, more than any other male solo artist. He has sold over 100 million albums worldwide and, in 1984, he earned both a Golden Globe and an Oscar for the song ‘I Just Called to Say I Love You,’ which was prominently featured in the film The Woman in Red.
In addition to Wonder’s highly anticipated performance, the line-up for this year’s Lucca Summer Festival encompasses a variety of genres and nationalities. The Eagles will perform on July 2, while Jeff Beck, Robben Ford, Tedeschi Trucks Band and some surprise artists will present An Evening of Guitars on July 7. Other acts include The Prodigy (July 10), Emma (July 11), Elisa (July 17), Giorgio Panariello (July 18) and The National (July 26).
