While people all over the planet eagerly await this year’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil, Tuscany residents will have an additional reason to look forward to 2014’s biggest sporting event. A FIFA TV spot that will play regularly throughout the matches includes a glimpse of Lucca’s piazza Anfiteatro.

The spot features 50 cities from around the world, symbolically united through a single soccer ball. The brief scene from Lucca, representing Italy, shows a group of rowdy children and teens transforming the quiet piazza Anfiteatro into a soccer field. The municipal police quickly arrive on the scene, initially looking threatening, but eventually decide to join the fun. The game continues until the ball is kicked up toward the sky, when the scene shifts to the next city.

Given the ubiquity of past World Cup TV spots—perhaps most notably the footage that featured K’Naan’s ‘Wavin’ Flag’ in 2010—the far-reaching exposure for Lucca is expected to increase global interest in the city.
