From the 18th of October to the 20th of January the Poggiali e Forconi gallery in via della Scala is showcasing some of Luigi Ghirri’s (1943-1992) most influential photographs. Angela Madesani is curating the exhibition, where twenty breathtaking photos have been chosen, all taken from the 70s to the early 90s. Madesani has also written a critical essay to accompany his work.

Ghirri is an Italian photography icon from the 70s, who became well known for his work capturing natural landscapes and architecture, at times juxtaposed with surrealism. In this particular display there is a focus on gardens from Emilia-Romagna, the Scandiano native’s home region.

The exhibition is free and not to be missed in via della Scala 35/A, and open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10am – 1pm and 3pm – 7pm.
