Smart City Exhibition, a forum for discussing innovation in Italy, is being held in Bologna until tomorrow, and released this year’s ICity Rate. The statistics took into consideration 106 municipalities in Italy, and evaluated them based on 72 indicators, in order to analyze six factors: economy, living, environment, people, mobility and governance.

This year Florence took it place on the podium after Milan and Bologna, going from 7th to 3rd in the country in just one year. It was praised in particular in terms of its governance, and its adaptability in the face of change, making it an incredibly livable city. The only category in which it seems Florence is lagging, is environmental sustainability where it ranked 93rd in the country. There is always room for improvement, but overall it’s a great time to be in Florence!
