Florence is already in scintillating form for 2015.

 

This year, the city will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of its years as the capital of Italy (1865–70), with a glittering array of events and initiatives in the pipeline. From May through October, while Milan welcomes the world to the Universal Exhibition, Florence extends the Expo to central Italy: a virtual dome and countless food-themed events are already in the works. In November, the Pope will be in Florence during the Italian Episcopal Conference. Indeed, there is so much going on this year that we’ve dedicated an entire page to Florence’s top 10 events in 2015.

 

‘Kaleidoscopic’ is the best word to describe an esoteric treasure in Tuscany, Sammezzano Castle, which The Florentine was privileged to visit during the holiday season. There are no other words to describe it: put on your sunglasses, click here and prepare to be dazzled.
