A 3D dome, a temporary mall and a variety of events showcasing the finest of Florence are the highlights of the international project Work’n Florence. The aim is simple: to attract an additional one million visitors during Expo 2015.

The Expo2015 events in Florence include the I_Dome (opening April 30 in the courtyard of Palazzo Vecchio), the Houses of Excellence (May 1 to October 31), Culinary Cenacles (May 28, June 11+26, July 16, September 10+24, October 1+15), and the Bread Festival (June 20 to September 30, in and around Orsanmichele).

In kicking off the events, mayor of Florence Dario Nardella noted that the many initiatives make Florence ‘the perfect gateway for Expo,’ adding, ‘We will use this opportunity and the numerous events… to attract tourists and spread our values of Florence-made products.’

In Milan, from May 2 to 10, Florence will be featured in Expo events with the opening of the Tuscany area at Milan’s Società Umanitaria in via Daverio: daily, from 11am to 11pm, visitors will be able to enjoy tastings, cooking exhibitions, and other activities in the cloisters of the former Franciscan monastery, close to Milan Cathedral.

Also commenting, president of Florence’s Chamber of Commerce Leonardo Bassilichi said, ‘Expo 2015 is an opportunity for our country, for our international development and local growth … My hope is that business owners will use Expo 2015 as a great start for their companies.’
