If you had a monthly ticket on Tuscany’s trains in July 2015, you will be entitled to 30% off your railcard this September or October. The decision comes from the Tuscan Region and Trenitalia due to poor service. During the hottest month of the years, the region’s commuters had to endure a lack of air conditioning.
Regional councillor Vincenzo Ceccarelli explained, ‘The Region has asked Trenitalia to help us to cover the cost for an extra discount, which we have decided to increase to 30%, compared to the usual 20%, as well as to make the discount available to all monthly ticket holders.’
To obtain the discount, you will need to exhibit your July “abbonamento” upon purchasing your monthly railcard for September or October.
