Florence’s Gelateria Vivoli now has pride of place at Disney Springs in Florida.
The new gelato store showcases its traditional flavours such as crema and chocolate, as well as tastes appealing to the American public like peanut butter and salted caramel. In addition to your usual coppetta (cup) and cone, visitors to Disney Springs can indulge in floats, milkshakes and house specials such as the Vivoli banana split and waffle boat sundaes.
The store sports charming black-and-white photos of the original Vivoli Gelateria in Florence and the Vivoli family.
Silvana Vivoli, daughter of one of the founders Raphael Vivoli, was pivotal in opening the Disney Springs location. There’s no seating to speak of because room had to be made to flaunt the 24 flavours of gelato that pack the tiny little store, plus the large selection of panini made with Italian meats and cheeses, and the mouth-watering variety of Italian biscotti.
This is the first time Vivoli has opened an additional outlet in its 85-year history.
