Two hundred electric cars have been introduced in Florence by company Share’NGo as part of the city’s already flourishing car-sharing initiative.

Not only are the cars a major step towards a greener Florence but towards a safer city for women too. Use is free to women between 1 and 6 am.

These new cars designed by Italian company Greengo are just the beginning. Stepping into one of the electric Mercedes B Class from the #IoSonoElettrica tour in 2015, a campaign to reduce emissions in Italy by 20% by 2020, Florence mayor Dario Nardella commented, ‘Florence city centre will be open exclusively to electric cars by the end of the mandate (ed. in 2019).’ Nardella also went on record, stating that another 150 rechargeable spots for the electric cars will be installed in Florence.

The cars can be reserved on sharengo.it and through the mobile app.
