The winter editions of the Pitti Immagine fashion shows will run until January 29, bringing fashion buyers, journalists, models and designers to Florence’s Fortezza da Basso. The theme for the fall/winter trade event is ‘Pitti Generations,’ focused on agelessness and the overlap of eras in fashion.

The first and most famous showcase in the line-up is Pitti Uomo, an international platform for menswear trend forecasting, running until January 15. The 89th edition will feature sections including Just Like a Man, highlighting classic, refined looks; Eye Pop, a special eyewear section; and Urban Panorama, with a focus on denim and vintage. On January 14 and 15 beginning at 6pm, the public can admire a Pitti-themed projection at La Rinascente department store, created by The Fake Factory at the Istituto Europeo di Design.

Next up is the 82nd edition of Pitti Bimbo (January 21 to 23) , where the focus is on children’s fashions. This year’s themed sections include EcoEthic, dedicated to sustainability-focused brands; SuperStreet, spotlighting denim and street clothing for juniors and teens; and Apartment at the Lyceum, a mini-atelier of children’s lifestyle brands. Other new developments include a Portraits of Contemporary Families exhibition, open daily, and the I Love My Dog project, which raises money for Meyer Children’s Hospital. Designers will create jackets and coats for dogs to support pet therapy activities for Meyer’s patients.

The events conclude with Pitti Filati, one of the main events for the international knitwear industry, running from January 27 to 29. Pitti Filati brings together Italian and foreign exhibitors involved in printing on knits, stitch and prototype development, style consulting, dyeing and finishing and more.
