A new “Jobs Act Plus” initiative sponsored by the Ente Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze and Banca CR Firenze will support employee recruitment for small artisan companies.

The project will involve small to medium-sized businesses in the provinces of Florence, Arezzo and Grosseto. This is the first in a series of initiatives that the 4 million euro IST (Interventi per Lo Sviluppo del Territorio) project between Ente CR Firenze and Banca CR Firenze will set in motion. The “Jobs Act Plus” program will provide for an annual incentive—from 2,000 to 6,000 euro per year for up to three years—for artisan companies that commit to apprenticeship contracts or to indeterminate, long-term hires of specialized workers. Companies will give particular attention to disadvantaged age groups in the labor market (under 30 and over 50).

Director of Ente CR Firenze Gabriele Gori commented, “Investing in the artisanal heritage of our area also means investing in creating new job opportunities. The aim isn’t just to revive old artistic knowledge, but to encourage new generations to pursue career paths that may have little visibility, but still have an elevated, professional output.” Pierluigi Monceri, director of Banca CR Firenze, added that this is “a new formula of action, using the tools we have available to foster employment and boost investments to increase productivity and support our young people.”
