Thanks to the Consorzio Vasari, the best of Florentine craftsmanship, food and wine will be on display at “Florence in New York,” a three-day fair dedicated to helping small Florentine and Tuscan businesses open the door to international markets.

The fair will run from May 15 to 17, 2017 on the 29th floor of 180 Maiden Lane, Manhattan, and will include exhibitions, events and meetings. The fair will be an opportunity for participants to establish a long-term commercial strategy, create a network of buyers, build their own website and social media channels, and receive a professional business consultation.

Vania Terzo, president of the Consorzio Vasari, stated, “With this project, we want to respond to the overseas demand for Florentine craftsmanship and luxury products made in Tuscany. We are proud to support small and medium-size businesses in this ambitious project to internationalize Florence’s excellent products, for a market that is potentially without limit. The fair in New York will be a major occasion to introduce the best of our craftsmanship in the USA and will be an important starting point for bringing Florentine quality to the wider foreign markets.”

A group of Florence’s renowned sbandieratori, or flag throwers, will make an extraordinary appearance at the event, opening the fair, which will be followed by a dinner with typical Tuscan products, coordinated by the chef Massimo Tanini, and a concert by the baritone Devid Cecconi and soprano Georgina Stalbow, accompanied on the piano by Massimo Barsotti.

Participating business will be able to take part in workshops aimed at introducing them to the American economic market and in meetings with Italian and American professionals, as well as have the chance to show the American public what their work entails by creating their unique artisan products live.
