Two Benedetto da Maiano artworks damaged in the 2016 earthquakes in central Italy will be restored after the success of the solidarity auction “We Art”, organized by the Libera Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze in collaboration with the bilingual children’s school Kindergarten. All of the 80 works up for auction were sold, raising 10,000 euro, topped off by a 5,000 euro donation from art collector and project supporter Paolo Fresco.

Both of the works are 15th-century wooden crucifixes, one from the Madonna Bianca church in Ancarno, the other from the San Bartolomeo in Todiano di Preci. The restoration will be carried out in Florence by Italian professionals, with supervision by the American nonprofit Friends of Florence.
