Works of Art and Magic Moments is the name of the newest exhibition at Gallery Hotel Art, in vicolo dell’Oro, running until December 31, 2018. The Florentine hotel has long been a supporter of contemporary art, annually featuring quirky installations on the façade of the building, like the Vespas that were anchored to the hotel throughout 2017, titled Freedom, and the spoons that dotted the building back in 2015 for Spoon – I eat Earth, as well as exhibitions of renowned artists inside the hotel, including Andy Warhol Forever. And now, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Centro per l’Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato, Gallery Hotel Art has teamed up with the museum’s Foundation for this newest exhibition, with support from the Prato-based textile company Manteco.

Opened in 1988, the Centro Pecci was the first Italian institution built specifically for displaying, collecting, documenting and promoting the most advanced artistic research. Home to over 1,000 pieces that represent artistic trends from the 1960s to today, including paintings, sculptures, video, installations, photographs and graphic design, the exhibition at Gallery Hotel Art comprises a selection of 30 of these works, one for each year of the museum’s activity. The pieces on display represent half a century of visions and experimentation in Italian art by 21 of the nation’s artists, some of whom are renowned worldwide, including Luciano Ori, Umberto Buscioni, Pietro Grossi, Elisabetta Gut, Mirella Bentivoglio and Matilde Tortora, to name a few.
