Residents of Florence under the age of 30 can have their say in the future of the city.
On December 15, from 2 to 9pm, the Palazzo Vecchio’s Hall of the Five Hundred will become a creativity room for youngsters to outline their vision of how they would like Florence to be in 2030. The aim of the day is to explore ten themes: green city (environment, mobility and sustainability); innovation; nightlife; participation (associations and volunteering); studying and working; art and crafts; openness (tourism and integration: The Florentine will moderate the discussion); events and sport; communication; rights. Every topic will involve leading figures and businesses in the metropolitan area to spark debate and interact with the participants. The suggestions that emerge from the discussions will go onto an ideas box, which will be put together to make a three-dimensional city model of Florence in 2030.
The day will end with a reception and live music by Florentine bands, including Rock Contest finalists.
