The first edition of the Recò Festival is coming to Prato, the only one of its kind in Tuscany. Dedicated to the circular economy in the worlds of fashion, food, tourism and architecture, the festival will take place from March 21 – 24 in various locations throughout the city.

Organized by the Region of Tuscany and Toscana Promozione and in collaboration with the Municipality of Prato, Recò aims to address best practices in the field of sustainability and renewal through four days of talks, concerts, theatre shows and guided tours, including family events and performances in the city’s industrial districts. Known for its thriving textile industry and recent cultural renaissance, Prato is the ideal city to host a festival dedicated to the circular economy, a system aimed at minimizing waste, recycling materials and utilizing resources in a sustainable fashion.

Events in the program include a concert by Elio e Prosseda at the Metastasio on March 23, a guided tour to the Materia Museum in Cantagallo and the three-day performance “Do U Care?” with Katia Giuliani and Paolo Mereu, during which the artists will live in the public eye day and night stripped of all necessities. Throughout the performance, the spectators will be responsible for feeding, clothing and helping them sleep, all according to the concept of sustainability.
