While many Florentines skip town for the seaside during late July and August, there's plenty to see and do in various open-air summer spaces. Here are three of our favorite places to bask in the glow of Florentine summer, including one that's brand new for 2016!
Mary studied in Florence for a semester and shortly after graduation bought a one-way ticket back to Italy. After spending a year in Rome studying Italian and teaching English, she returned to Florence and now serves as The Florentine's events editor. When not writing, she keeps busy on an ultra-scientific mission to sample all the schiacciata and spritz in Tuscany. Follow her on Twitter and Instagram @VeryMaryGray.
