It was an act of devotion on the part of Fiorentina fans who followed their struggling team to Verona for a decisive game that would have meant Fiorentina’s downgrading to the B Series had they lost.

The stadium was coloured with the Fiorentina’s bright purple as fans struggled, together with players, through a difficult but ultimately well deserved victory against Chievo, another team that was fighting to stay in the A Series.

The three points earned in this match have pushed the team up the classification list just enough to breathe a bit before their next match against Atalanta.

There are only three games left before the end of the tournament, and if Fiorentina does manage to remain in the A Series, it must, without a doubt, thank its ever-faithful fans. Surely, next Sunday will also be sold out as these fans rally in support for their beloved team.
