The Consortium of Chianti Classical Oil DOP has nominated its new president. Sienese Carlo Salvadori, currently director of the Social Coop Agricoltori del Chainti Georgrafico, takes his place along-side vice-President Francesco Daddi. The consortium, founded in 2001, represents 260 olive growers in the region, as well as 100 bottling companies and 30 olive pressing companies. Together they reach a production capacity of eight to ten thousand tons of oil per year. 1000 tons of oil from the 2005 harvest received outstanding quality ‘DOP’ label.
