Florentine fashionistas can participate in a live fashion photo shoot and cocktails at the Piazza del Mercato Centrale in San Lorenzo on Jan. 11 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. The event is being held in honor of the 71st edition of Pitti Uomo. The Mercato Central was purposefully chosen as the event location because it has been the driving force behind the Florentine trading system since 1876.
A window onto the world, the Mercato Centrale will become a trait d’union between Florence and the fashion world, on a night that will boast a strong sense of tradition, craftsmanship and creativity underlying the city of Florence and its people. An open-air setting, immersed among the small shops of the Mercato Centrale is the ideal space for a live photo shoot by the world-renowned Florentine fashion photographer Andrea Marchionni, who will photograph a group of male models wearing garments offered by the Consorzio Classico Italia. Sponsored by the city of Florence, the shoot is the brain-child of four Florentine women entrepreneurs led by Cinzia Donnini Melchionne of CDM Eventi.
