The Levante Fiorentino is more than just beautiful landscapes, delicious food and amazing wines—it’s also home to many fashion houses that exemplify the high standard behind ‘Made in Italy’. A  rich tradition of craft has been passed from generation to generation, while at the same time an innovative and advanced industry respects the environment and its surroundings. Exemplifying this standard is the Centopercento Italiano consortium of more than 70 companies, many of which are locate din the Levante Fiorentino, dedicated to 100 percent of production completed in Italy. Since its founding in 1997, Centopercento has been committed to protecting the rights of Italian producers and consumers in an effort to combat the counterfeiting of ‘Made in Italy’ products. The consortium also provides affiliated companies with a comprehensive marketing strategy which offers advantages that could not be obtained if working as a single entity.

Two of Italy’s most well-known brands—Ermanno Scervino and Braccialini—are based in the Levante Fiorentino. Each brings a own unique approach to contemporary Made in Italy fashion.

Ermanno Scervino burst onto the fashion scene with a women’s collection in 1999, followed by menswear, children’s clothing and a streetwear line for young adults. Now famous for its luxurious and elegant collections, Scervino is known for the richness of its materials—calfskin leather, intricate lace, the softest of furs—and its remarkable attention to detail and craftsmanship. Each collection is an exciting mix of soft and delicate combined with sharpness and strength. With its style offices and production workshops located in Grassina, near Bagno a Ripoli, in the hills outside of Florence, the company’s modern and efficient new headquarters include the knitwear factory, atelier, tailoring and research labs, allowing the designer to be closely involved in the development of his lines.

When you see an objet d’art bag with an enamelled ‘B’ that sparkles and shines, there’s no doubt it’s a Braccialini. The internationally known family-run business has been designing handbags and accessories since 1954 and has been growing ever since. Braccialini’s move to Pontassieve allowed the company to expand their product line to include shoes, jewellery, scarves, sunglasses and more. This year’s spring and summer collections are bursting with color—yellow, orange, fuchsia, turquoise and red. Crafted out of soft nappa leather or made from scarf-like cloth, the bags are sure to compliment every elegant, trendy woman who is in perfect harmony with the new sunnier season.
