If film
is your thing, then the next 50 days are for you. From October 29 to December
17, Florence becomes an international film
paradise with nine different festivals highlighting French film, documentaries,
Finnish film, contemporary Indian cinema, queer films, the best in new Italian
cinema and much more.

 

The
festivals, promoted by the Mediateca Toscana’s 50 Days of International Film in
Florence, all take place at the Odeon
Cinema. Now in its third edition, 50 Days is the largest film festival of its
kind in Italy. Events featuring writers,
directors, filmmakers and actors add to the festival’s prestige.

schedule: France Odeon French Film Festival (October 29-31); Festival
dei Popoli International Documentary Film Festival
(November 1-7); Florence
International Film Festival
(November 12), Finnish Film Festival (November 13-15); International Cinema and Women Film Festival (November
17-22); Lo schermo dell’Arte Contemporary Art Film Festival (November
23-26); Florence Queer Festival (November 27-December 3); River to
River Florence Indian Film Festival
(December 4-10); New Italian Film  (‘NICE,’ December 11); Ethno-music Film
Festival
(December 12-13).

 

Special
events include a celebration of Japanese animation (November 8) a Stanley Kubrick retrospective on November 11 and the Florence
International Film Festival
(November 12).
