According to the 2009 Hotel Price Index published by Hotels.com, Viareggio boasts the most expensive hotels in Tuscany. According to the study, the average per-night price of a hotel room in the port city is 140 euro. Hotel prices in the Tuscan city rose considerably-going up 18 percent-in the second trimestre of 2009, just under Turin’s 19 percent spike, the highest in Italy. The index also showed Venice’s hotels are Italy’s costliest, with an average price of 166 euro a night, while those in Ravenna are the least expensive, with an average price of 68 euro per night.
