Patients at the three medical clinics of the
Misericordia of Florence (viale dei Mille, via del Sansovino, and vicolo
Adimari) can now book appointments from their home computers. With a new and
improved website, patients can choose online the day and time of their desired
visit. ‘It is our duty to offer this new service to about 90,000 citizens who
visit our clinics annually,’ said the superintendent of the Misercordia, Andrea
Ceccherini. Patients can also pay for services online through Pay Pal.
Also new,
patients can book directly from home transportation services, home-care
assistance and sports and cultural assistance offered by the Misericordia.
Moreover, the new
portal will make it possible to consult documents on their medical card. ‘In
recent years, we have seen a growing number of cases in which patients have
used the Internet to communicate with us; in 2011, about 12 percent of these
were booked online. We, therefore, wanted to respond to this growing demand.’
