With
ACF Fiorentina having established themselves as serious contenders for a
Champions League place this season, the January transfer window could be a
crucial period, both to reinforce the Viola squad and to avoid any big-name
exits. Here is a look at the reported transfers that could shape the second
half of Viola’s soccer season.

Potential signings:

Nemanja Gudelj. With his
current club NAC Breda struggling in the lower reaches of the Eredivisie, the
temptation to jump ship could be overwhelming for the talented central
midfielder. While this signing was reportedly all but completed in the summer,
Villareal and Newcastle are now also in the chase for the Serb.

Massadio Haidara. The
19-year-old left-back has represented France at U-21 level, and is seemingly
keen for a move away from Nancy FC. Haidara could provide some much-needed
cover for the Viola starting XI.

Marouane Chamakh. The
Arsenal misfit is keen on a move away from the London team, and Fiorentina
looks like a likely destination. The Viola already lodged a bid for the
Moroccan forward in the summer. The 10 million euro price tag could be a
potential obstacle for Fiorentina.

Potential exits:

Stevan Jovetic. The goals
and technical ability of the Viola’s star striker has attracted the attention
of many of Europe’s top clubs, including Manchester City and Chelsea. While the
talent of the 23-year-old will continue to make him highly coveted, Jovetic is
probably too indispensable to the Viola’s aspirations for the 2012-2013 season
to be allowed to leave in January.

Adem Ljajic. With the
Serbian 21-year-old recently slipping down the pecking order at Fiorentina,
transfer speculation has surrounded Ljajic. The young forward has a reported
price tag of 6 million euro, but a loan move away from Fiorentina remains the
most likely option.
