Although the annual hunt was held on March 20, well before Easter this year, the children from the Firenze Moms 4 Moms (FMs4Ms) eagerly searched for Easter eggs in the Pettini Burresi park.

Before the hunt, the children, who ranged in age from toddlers to tweens, painted eggs and ate goodies prepared by the families that attended. Fortunately the sun was shining, so when the kids were given the go ahead, they were off!

All of the eggs, which had been carefully hidden in tree trunks, under bushes, or in branches, were eventually found.

Organized mainly by Jill Romanelli, the annual Easter egg hunt is one of the many events that FMs4Ms organizes for the expatriate families in Florence. The FMs4Ms Network was founded in 2004 by Kimberly Vanzi and in addition to organizing thematic events, the network also offers expatriate families a website, or virtual piazza, in which they can interact.

Services to the community include a weekly newsletter, a discussion group, playgroups and get-togethers. For details, see www.firenzemoms4moms.net.
