As winter approaches, the ‘Palaghiaccio’ ice skating rink in piazza Libertà returns to Florence. This has been a yearly tradition in Florence since 1996, although before it was held in Santa Croce.The rink is 30 meters by 20, with a capacity of 200 skaters at a time, and skaters of all ages and skill are welcome.Entrance and ice skate rental costs 6 euro for one hour time slots, or four euro if you bring your own skates. It is open every day with the following time slots:Morning: 9-10am, 10-11am, 11.30am-12.30pmAfternoon: 2-3pm, 3.30-4.30pm, 5-6pm, 6.30-7.30pmNight: 9-10pm, 10.30-11.30pmOn Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays there is also an extra time slot from midnight until 1am!
